Our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) mission to care for our environment goes hand-in-hand with learning how to share our space with Singaporeβs diverse fauna! Collaborating with NParks, our children explored what it truly means to live harmoniously in a City in Nature.
Guided by NParksβ educational resources, teachers read insightful stories that taught our little ones how to practice safe, respectful, and responsible human-fauna encounters.
Our young conservationists then deepened their understanding through fun, interactive activities:
π Animal Charades: The children got active by playing a lively game of charades with picture cardsβacting out animal behaviors while their classmates enthusiastically guessed! This helped build empathy and appreciation for our native fauna.
π£οΈ Student-Led Discussions (K2): Taking on leadership roles, our K2 children facilitated meaningful group discussions with their peers, discussing what to do (and what not to do) when visiting our nature parks.
π Poster Review & Reflection: To wrap up our learning, we reviewed an NParks visual guide together to reinforce appropriate behaviorsβsuch as keeping a safe distance, not feeding animals, and keeping our parks clean.
Through these engaging activities, our children are learning that protecting nature means being thoughtful, respectful visitors in animal habitats.
We are so proud of our little eco-ambassadors for learning how to keep both themselves and our fauna safe!
