To turn their learning into meaningful action, the children were ready to embark on their own gardening journey. Parents were invited to support the project by donating clean and safe recyclable materials that could be reused as gardening resources. The children were excited to see how everyday items could be given a new purpose instead of being discarded. With the support of their families, they collected a variety of recyclable materials that would help them create and care for their garden. This collaborative effort encouraged the children to practise the values they had been learning about, such as reducing waste, reusing materials and caring for the environment, while showing them that small actions at home and in school can contribute to a greener community.
