As part of our SSDB project on marine conservation, grandparents and their grandchildren came together to learn how they can play a part in protecting our oceans and marine life.
Through hands-on activities, they worked together to rescue sea creatures “trapped” in rubbish and fishing nets and participated in an ocean clean-up by removing litter from trays of water. These experiences helped children understand how marine pollution can harm sea creatures and the importance of keeping our oceans clean.
To conclude the activity, grandparents and grandchildren created marine-themed crafts together, which were turned into refrigerator magnets. These magnets served as meaningful reminders for families to care for our oceans and protect marine life.
