Our parent volunteer joined the children for an engaging storytelling session featuring Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts. Through the story, the children followed Stanley, a plastic bag floating in the ocean that was mistaken for food by different sea creatures. The story helped the children understand how plastic waste can end up in our oceans and cause harm to marine animals.

After the storytelling session, the parent volunteer engaged the children in a simple discussion about ways they can help protect marine life. The children learnt about reducing the use of single-use plastic bags, reusing items whenever possible, and choosing reusable or recyclable materials instead.

Through the story and discussion, the children became more aware of how their everyday choices can affect the ocean. They were encouraged to practise simple actions such as using reusable bags, reducing plastic waste and disposing of rubbish properly to help keep our oceans clean and safe for marine life.
