As part of our SSDB journey, our children and families participated in the BRP Sports Day – “Stay Healthy Together,” together with four other PCF Sparkletots centres. The event brought together children, families, educators and community partners for an afternoon of active participation, healthy living and community bonding.
In collaboration with the Public Hygiene Council and Singapore Red Cross, children and families learnt about the importance of good hygiene, caring for shared spaces and helping others in the community. The Singapore Red Cross volunteers and mascot also joined the event, making the experience engaging and memorable for the children.
To extend our message of caring for the environment, families contributed used plastic containers which were given a new purpose at our Go Green Booth. The containers were repurposed into approximately 230 Green Starter Packs, filled with coco peat and broccoli microgreen seeds. Children brought the kits home to grow together with their families, turning a simple reused container into an opportunity for continued learning.
Through this shared experience, children learnt that staying healthy is not only about being active, but also about caring for themselves, others and the environment. By working together with their families and the wider community, even small actions such as reusing a container, growing a plant and keeping shared spaces clean can make a positive difference.
