As part of our SSDB 2026 journey, we took the opportunity to celebrate the special fathers and father figures in our childrenβs lives through our Fatherβs Day Celebration.
Held in the centre, the celebration brought children from Infant to K2 together with their fathers and father figures for an afternoon filled with laughter, play, bonding and meaningful moments. The celebration was planned with the intention of giving children opportunities to spend quality time with their fathers, while expressing their love and appreciation for all that their fathers do for them.
The celebration began even before the actual event! Each class prepared a special handmade gift for their fathers. From βI Love You to Piecesβ heart artwork in Playgroup and Worldβs Best Dad trophies in N1, to personalised photo frames, watercolour resist cards and βAll About My Dadβ collages in the older classes, every creation was made with love and thoughtfulness.
On the celebration day, fathers and children took part in a variety of fun activities planned according to the childrenβs developmental stages.
For our Playgroup and N1 children, the celebration included energetic games such as throw and catch, musical hula hoops and a sustainability-inspired bottle-pulling game. These activities encouraged children and their dads to work together, take turns and have fun as a team.
Our N2, K1 and K2 children took on more challenging activities, including the much-anticipated βGuess My Childβ game and three-legged races. The laughter and competitive spirit could be felt as fathers and children worked together to complete each challenge!
Learning Through Family Experiences Beyond the games and activities, the celebration created opportunities for children to experience the importance of spending time with their family members. Through simple moments of playing, laughing, encouraging one another and working as a team, children experienced first-hand how family relationships can be strengthened through shared experiences.
The day ended with smiles, laughter and class group photographs, capturing the special memories created between fathers and their children.
Fatherβs Day was more than just a celebration. It was an opportunity for our centre to strengthen our partnership with families and create meaningful experiences where children could love, appreciate and connect with the important people in their lives.
As we continue our SSDB 2026 journey, we look forward to creating many more opportunities for our children and families to learn, grow and celebrate together. π
