A trip to the supermarket

Both K1 and K2 class looked at how many plastic bags are used every year in Singapore and how long it takes for the bags to decompose. In turn they learned the importance of reusing their bag. The children brought in their own plastic bag and took part in a ‘trip to the supermarket.’

They were given their plastic bag and $20 in pretend money and were able to buy a number of items from the supermarket. This also taught them vital skills in communication, mathematics and budgeting.
