2026 Start Small, Dream Big : From Caring for Our Earth to Caring for Our Community

(A) 19 June 2026 – SSDB Food Drive Event

The Food Drive brought together children, families and the wider school community in support of The Food Bank Singapore. Families exchanged non-perishable food donations for baked goods prepared by the children, who enthusiastically took on the role of "sellers" during the event.

To deepen their understanding of food sustainability and food wastage, families participated in interactive learning stations supported by task cards. Through activities such as identifying expiry dates, sorting perishable and non-perishable foods, and exploring suitable food donations, children learnt the importance of food appreciation, proper food storage and responsible consumption.

Families generously donated non-perishable food items including rice, instant noodles, biscuits, beverages and canned food. Children actively participated in receiving, sorting, classifying and repacking the donated items, gaining a deeper understanding of how food donations are organised and distributed to support families in need. Through this experience, they learnt that food is a valuable resource that should be appreciated, shared and not wasted.
