25 June 2026 – Learning Journey to The Food Bank Singapore
The K2 children and their parents visited The Food Bank Singapore to learn how donated food is sorted, checked and distributed to families in need. Through the educational talk and warehouse tour, the children gained a deeper understanding of food insecurity and saw how their contributions could make a difference in the community.
The Difference We Made
Together, the 7Oaks Preschool @ Kallang community donated 96.55 kg of food, providing approximately 322 wholesome meals for beneficiaries facing food insecurity. This achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of our children, families and educators.
Reflection
Through this SSDB journey, the children discovered that sustainability is not only about caring for the Earth but also about caring for people. From learning to reduce waste to supporting The Food Bank Singapore, they demonstrated empathy, responsibility, collaboration and active citizenship.
From caring for our Earth to caring for our community, the children learnt that even small actions can make a meaningful difference. 🌎 🤍
