As part of Read for Good 2026, an initiative by the National Library Board (NLB), we organised daily reading sessions to nurture our children’s love for books and stories. Through reading together, the children not only discovered the joy of reading but also learnt the value of caring for the community, as their participation helped raise books for underprivileged children and beneficiaries.
This Chinese story highlights the meaningful role, values, and responsibilities of a teacher. Through the story, children are introduced to how teachers nurture and care for them, guide their learning, share knowledge, spark curiosity, and create meaningful opportunities for every child, regardless of their different needs or backgrounds.
The story also celebrates the dedication, patience, and commitment of teachers who tirelessly support children in their growth and development. It encourages children to appreciate the important work of teachers and recognise how their care and guidance help nurture thoughtful, compassionate, and responsible individuals who can contribute positively to society in the future.
