As part of our Start Small, Dream Big project, we were delighted to launch “With Every Child, We Shape Tomorrow” in conjunction with Earth Day. The celebration was a meaningful opportunity for children, parents, and educators to come together to appreciate our beautiful planet and reflect on how small actions can contribute to a better and more sustainable future.
The event began with the children arriving in their creative DIY, nature-inspired costumes, made from recycled and reused materials. From colourful cardboard and paper to repurposed household items, the children and their families transformed everyday materials into imaginative costumes. Their wonderful creations not only showcased their creativity and individuality, but also demonstrated an important message—that materials we often consider waste can be reused and given a new purpose.
The presence and participation of our parents made the celebration even more meaningful. By inviting families to be part of the experience, we created an opportunity for children to learn that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility. The children were excited to share their costumes and ideas with their parents, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with creativity, curiosity, and meaningful conversations about nature and our Earth.
As part of the launch, the children worked together with their parents to create an Earth-themed poster. Through this collaborative activity, families expressed their thoughts, hopes, and ideas about protecting our planet. The children explored simple but important ways we can care for the Earth, such as reducing waste, reusing materials, recycling, saving water, caring for plants, and keeping our surroundings clean.
More than just an art activity, the poster-making experience encouraged children to express their voices and understand that even small actions can make a big difference. Working alongside their parents also strengthened the connection between home and school, allowing families to learn and create together.
The celebration was a wonderful reflection of the spirit behind Start Small, Dream Big. It reminded us that meaningful change does not always begin with big actions. Sometimes, it begins with a child picking up a piece of recyclable material, planting a seed, creating something new from something old, or simply learning to care for the world around them.
Our Earth Day celebration was therefore more than an event—it was a reminder that with every child, we shape tomorrow. By starting small today, nurturing good values, and dreaming big together, we can inspire our children to become responsible stewards of the Earth and help build a greener, kinder, and brighter tomorrow.
