The children had a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival together with the elders from Sunlove Active Day Care Centre. The celebration began with an engaging Mid-Autumn story shared in both Malay and Chinese, allowing the children to appreciate different languages and cultural traditions.
The children also presented a special performance for the elders, bringing smiles and joy to everyone. Following the performance, the children and elders participated in simple games that encouraged interaction, laughter and intergenerational bonding.
They then worked together to make and decorate their own lanterns, encouraging creativity, cooperation and communication. The celebration ended with a cheerful lantern parade, where the children and elders proudly carried their handmade lanterns and enjoyed the festive atmosphere together.
Through this meaningful experience, the children developed values of respect, inclusiveness, cooperation and appreciation for different cultures, while building meaningful connections with the elders in their community.
