The SSDB Finale was held on Friday, 7 August 2026, in conjunction with our centre’s National Day celebration at Braddell Heights Community Club Hall. The integration of both events provided a meaningful opportunity for children and families to celebrate Singapore’s birthday while reflecting on their shared responsibility towards protecting the environment. Through performances, interactive activities, and the showcase of children’s learning, the celebration highlighted the importance of caring for our nation and its natural resources.
The programme featured performances by the Nursery and K1 children, including the K2 SSDB skit, which conveyed messages of environmental responsibility and the importance of protecting our blue planet. There were also pre-recorded performance done by Infant to Pre-Nursery as a suprise item for the attendees. Families and community members were also invited to participate in interactive activities, including a STEMIE showcase, where children’s inventions and learning experiences were shared. The celebration brought together children, parents, educators, and community partners (PCF Sparklecare) in a joyful and meaningful event that reinforced the values of unity, responsibility, and care for our environment.
By integrating the SSDB Finale with National Day, children were able to make meaningful connections between caring for the environment and caring for Singapore. They learned that protecting our waterways, conserving resources, and keeping our surroundings clean are ways in which they can contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable nation. The celebration also provided an opportunity for children to develop a sense of belonging and pride in Singapore, while recognising their role as responsible citizens and stewards of the environment.
In conclusion, the SSDB project themed “Mission: Blue Possible” has provided children with meaningful opportunities to explore, discover, and learn about water and marine sustainability. Through hands-on experiences, family involvement, and community participation, children developed a greater awareness of environmental issues and the importance of taking action to protect our blue planet. The project has shown that every small action counts, and that together, we can make a positive difference towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Singapore.
