Our SSDB journey culminated in Family Day 2026, bringing children, parents and educators together for a meaningful celebration of environmental responsibility, family bonding and community spirit.
In collaboration with the Public Hygiene Council (PHC), interactive tabletop games were introduced to engage children and their families in learning about good public hygiene habits and the importance of keeping Singapore clean and green.
Through these interactive activities, children revisited the environmental concepts they had learnt throughout the SSDB project and had opportunities to share their knowledge with their parents. Families worked together to complete the activities, reinforcing the message that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility.
Our learning also extended beyond keeping the physical environment clean. The children were excited to discover that being responsible members of the community also means caring for the people around us. Through our Food Donation Drive supported by Food From the Heart SG, children and families contributed food items to support those in need. This meaningful experience helped children understand the importance of sharing, kindness, empathy and giving back to the community.
Family Day provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen home-school partnerships and bring together the different messages explored throughout our SSDB journey. As Young Guardians of Our Environment, children learnt that caring for our world includes not only keeping our surroundings clean and green, but also caring for the people within our community. Together with their families, they discovered that small acts of responsibility, kindness and care can contribute towards a cleaner, greener and more caring society.
