Our preschool partnered with the Singapore Red Cross to conduct a CPR and Choking Awareness Programme for K1 and K2 families. Through a parent workshop, families learnt about the DRSABC approach, checking for responsiveness, calling 995, locating the nearest AED, and basic CPR and choking response procedures.
K1 and K2 children also participated in an awareness session where they learnt how to respond when someone needs help by staying calm, seeking assistance from trusted adults, and showing care and concern for others. They were also introduced to the role of the Singapore Red Cross in supporting communities during emergencies.
As a gesture of appreciation, the K1 children presented the Singapore Red Cross team with handmade "You Are a Hero" and "Thank You for Helping Us" ribbon awards to recognise their contributions to the community.
The programme concluded with a special visit from Carrie, the Singapore Red Cross Junior mascot, who reinforced the values of kindness, empathy, and helping others.
Through this meaningful collaboration, children and families gained greater awareness of emergency preparedness while strengthening values of care, gratitude, and social responsibility.
