The values nurtured through our "Planting a SEED of Kindness" theme came alive in a different form during our Children's Day Amazing Race at Sentosa. While the classroom theme focused on caring for plants and the environment, the amazing race gave children real-world opportunities to practise the same core values in action.

Kindness showed up as children encouraged and cheered for their teammates throughout the challenges, celebrating each other's efforts rather than just the outcome. Responsibility was demonstrated as children took ownership of their roles within their team, following instructions and completing tasks at each checkpoint. Respect was practised as children waited their turn, respected race rules, and showed consideration for other participants and the public spaces they moved through. Care extended beyond plants to caring for one another — helping teammates who struggled with a task, and looking out for each other's safety along the race route. Cleanliness/Orderliness was reinforced as children were reminded to keep their surroundings and belongings tidy while moving from station to station.

In this way, the Sentosa Amazing Race became a living extension of the seeds planted in the classroom — showing children that kindness, responsibility and care aren't confined to a pot of soil, but can grow wherever they go, including out in the world at Sentosa.
