With parents and children fully onboard our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey and united in promoting sustainability, we extended our efforts beyond the classroom through meaningful community initiatives.

To encourage active participation in caring for the environment, we organised weekly litter-picking sessions involving children from Playgroup to K2 alongside their parents. Together, families explored the neighbourhood, collecting litter and learning that everyone can play a part in keeping shared spaces clean. These experiences helped children develop a sense of responsibility, environmental awareness and pride in contributing positively to their community.

In addition, we launched a weekly Recycling Drive to collect recyclable items contributed by our families and members of the surrounding community. As part of the initiative, children and parents worked together to create posters using recycled materials to promote the Recycling Drive. They then visited neighbouring residents to share about the school's initiative and encourage them to participate.

The community's response was overwhelmingly positive. Families and neighbours actively supported the initiative, and our blue recycling bin was consistently filled after each collection. The strong participation demonstrated how children can become advocates for environmental stewardship, inspiring those around them to adopt more sustainable practices. Through these collective efforts, children experienced first-hand how small, consistent actions can make a meaningful difference in creating a cleaner and greener community.
