As the children entered SparkleCare, they were given a warm welcome by both the staff and the elderly as they lit up with bright smiles and anticipating hands waving or for them to high-five.

The first activity involved the children doing this year’s National Day Dance Workout with the elderly. At first, the children shyly showed their moves. Gradually, they displayed their movements and put in their best effort to dance with the elderly.

The next activity involved playing two games with the elderly. The first game consisted of passing a ‘parcel’ until the music stopped. The person with the parcel needed to tear a layer of the parcel until a memo of instruction was revealed. For example, the instruction revealed “Do a funny face” and everyone had to do a funny face. The second game consisted of passing ping pong balls with a spoon. Everyone had fun “struggling” to pass the ping pong balls to one another without dropping them.

Lastly, the children put up a performance for everyone in SparkleCare where they sang and danced to the songs that they did in the previous Family Day performance as well as invited the elderly to dance together with them to the song of ‘I Love My Family’.
