The event started off with a dance performance put up by the PGs all the way to the K2s. Every child spent the time to practice with their peers and it all paid off with a spectacular performance!
One by one, each family fetched their children from the waiting area and proceeded to enjoy carnival-like mini booths set up. This year, we collaborated with the Red Cross First Aid Organisation to provide opportunities for children and their families to learn more interesting facts about first aid and the ways of being a first responder. They could also participate in a memory game of first aid related items and a ring toss related to the Emergency Numbers in Singapore.
We also collaborated with the Public Hygiene Council (PHC) Organisation to promote the awareness about cleanliness through tabletop games with the help of the PHC Supermons: Toilemon, Trashemon and Trayremon. Toilemon promotes awareness of keeping public toilets clean, Trashemon promotes awareness to throw trash into dustbins and Trayremon promotes awareness of returning one’s tray in places like hawker centres. The tabletop games include an archery activity, tossing of hoops and tossing of Velcro strapped tennis balls.
Our lovely teachers had also prepared other booths and activities such as Sepak Takraw, a nail art corner, a tattoo sticker corner, colour jumping activity, colour collecting challenge, balancing cups activity and a 3-legged walk activity.
Finally, what is an event without commemorating it with pictures? What better way than to set up a photobooth! Instead of a stationery photobooth, we prepared a mobile photobooth using self-made ‘photo frames’ so that children and their families can huddle up in the photo frames to take family pictures!
