The environment around us is not only our home, but everything that keeps us alive! Providing children with learning opportunities that teach them about the environment helps children to understand the ways they could play active roles in environmental conservation. We hope to engender a future generation that is proactive and passionate about this cause!

On the 23rd of May 2023, our 4-year-olds from Mighty Newton and Mighty Mae went to Gardens by the Bay (GBTB) as a part of our SSDB programme and a mission within their Hero Card. Embarking on GBTB’s Green Guardian programme, the children were excited to explore their environment and greet the animals living in its ecosystem.

During the Green Guardian’s Walk, the children had an up-close encounter with a monitor lizard, as well as spied various species of birds, such as the spotted doves, white-breasted waterhen, and rock dove. They even saw aquatic creatures, like the huge alligator gar and arapaima! Wow!

Towards the end of their Learning Adventure, the children completed post-trip activities led by GBTB by drawing the living things they had encountered and compare them against animals that the children observed within their own neighborhoods. It was indeed an interesting perspective! We are looking forward to more adventures in time to come, stay tuned!
