The children of Little Atlas Preschool recently went on a neighbourhood walk as part of our SSDB project to explore how people travel in Singapore and to reflect on how transportation continues to shape our daily lives today

During the walk, the children observed how people move around in their community. Some walking to nearby places while others riding bicycles, waiting at the bus stop, or hopping onto the MRT.

One highlight of the walk was when the children stopped at a bus stop display showing real-time bus arrival information. They were fascinated by the moving numbers and colourful route details!

At the MRT station, the children were welcomed by the station staff, who warmly shared about Singapore’s transport system—how trains are kept safe, how stations operate, and how everything works together to help people get where they need to go. The children were curious and excited, eagerly asking questions and learning about what happens behind the scenes!

Back in school, the children reflected on how people used to travel in the past, on foot, by trishaw or bullock cart. They expressed their learning through thoughtful discussions, colourful drawings, and even imaginative ideas for how people might travel in the future!

Our roads are all connected! We can go to anywhere we like!
