Our Otter Neighbours Launch Party

On Thursday, 30 April 2026, the K1 and K2 children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Fengshan Blk 126 had an exciting and meaningful Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Launch Party!

The session began with an introduction to SSDB and the unveiling of our project title, “Our Otter Neighbours.” The children were introduced to the idea of caring for the community and environment through small but meaningful actions.

They explored pictures and videos of Singapore’s native wildlife animals, including the Smooth-coated otter, and learnt about the different habitats where these animals live, such as parks, rivers and canals. Through guided discussions, the children shared places where they had seen these animals and learnt about some human-wildlife challenges, such as littering and feeding wild animals. They also discussed ways people and wildlife can co-exist harmoniously by respecting nature and keeping the environment clean.

To conclude the activity, the children created their own awareness sashes to show support for protecting native wildlife. They proudly wrote personal pledges on their sashes, such as “I will not feed wild animals” and “I will remind others not to litter.”

It was a wonderful start to the project, as the children learnt that even small actions can make a big difference in caring for animals and the environment.
