As we explored the theme “Family and Friends,” the children reflected on the people who make a difference in their lives and in our school community. With our upcoming Sports Day, they wondered, “How can we show our community partners that we appreciate them?”
The children decided to create something with their own hands. Using clay, they shaped and created their own trinket trays, exploring different textures and designs before painting them with care. They also wrote thank-you letters to share their thoughts and appreciation.
As they worked, the children discovered that a gift does not have to be big or expensive to be meaningful. What mattered was the time, effort and thought they put into making something for someone else.
Their handmade gifts will be presented to our community partners — Hong Kah North Community Club, Singapore Heart Foundation, ECF, MSF Families for Life, Airtumtec, Suu Balm and Vytle — as a small gesture of appreciation for their support and partnership.
Through this experience, the children experienced how kindness can bring people together. They learned that relationships grow when we take the time to appreciate, care for and give to one another.
And this is only the beginning…
To be continued at our Sports Day, where our children, families, friends and community partners will come together to celebrate, connect and create memories together. 💛
