On 24 September 2026, our K1 and K2 children welcomed representatives from the Singapore Red Cross Society as part of our SSDB project, Caring for Our Community, in support of the Grateful Hearts Campaign 2026 – Humanity in Action.
Through an engaging and age-appropriate sharing, the children learnt about humanitarian causes in Singapore and how different groups within our community may need care and support. They discovered that helping others can begin with simple acts of kindness, compassion and generosity.
The session encouraged our children to think beyond themselves and recognise that everyone can play a part in making the community a more caring place. More importantly, they learnt that compassion is not only about feeling concerned for others — it is also about choosing to take action.
This meaningful sharing set the stage for the next part of our project, where the children and their families would put their learning into action through giving, reuse and fundraising for the community.
From awareness comes empathy, and from empathy comes action.
