Kindness in the Community

The Kindness in the Community week provided the children with meaningful opportunities to understand that kindness is not only about helping people, but also about caring for the places we share. Through stories, discussions, and activities, the children explored simple ways they could be responsible and considerate members of their community.

The Litter Picking Project was a meaningful hands-on experience for the children. They were excited to work together to look around their surroundings and help collect litter. Through this activity, the children began to understand that keeping our shared spaces clean is one way of showing kindness to others. They also practised teamwork, responsibility, and care for their environment.

It was encouraging to see the children taking ownership of the task and recognising that even a small action, such as picking up a piece of litter, can contribute to a cleaner and more pleasant environment for everyone. The experience helped make the idea of “small acts of kindness” more meaningful and real for them.

Moving forward, we hope to continue encouraging the children to be more observant of their surroundings and to take simple actions that show care and respect for their community.
