There are no boundaries in showing kindness to others.

The parents, teachers and children from the Playgroup Class collaborated to bond with the residents of United Medicare Centre. The teachers read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carole to the residents. After the storytelling, we had a short discussion by asking about the colours and names of the fruits. The children and residents had hands-on activity by making the fruit salad together. They enjoyed eating the fruit salad.

The parents provided the fruits for the residents and children during the hands-on activity.

The event ended by singing songs and thanking everyone for their participation.

This activity allows children and parents to interact with the elderly. The experience can help children learn to appreciate the people around them with respect, care and kindness.
