The children from Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 participated in activities and lessons during the Green Learning Project. The focus was on Water Conservation. We brainstormed ways to save water, collect rain water and use recycled materials for our indoor garden.

The children learned about the importance of water conservation and developed ways to use self-irrigation/self-watering systems to help water the plants in the garden. Through the funds from NorthWest CDC, we were able to devise an indoor garden with children as the main gardeners and Housekeeping captains.

Our garden uses the self-watering system so that the plants get enough water throughout the day. The children take turns to ensure that there is enough water in the bottles. We have used recycled bottles that the children have collected with their families.
