To extend children’s learning about sustainable practices, a learning journey to Sustainable Singapore Gallery was held. This provided children with authentic opportunities to develop environmental awareness through the interactive exhibits and hands on learning activities. Children gained a better understanding of how their actions such as saving water, reducing waste and recycling can contribute to a sustainable Singapore. They learnt about Singapore’s “four National Taps”, cultivating an appreciation for our water resources.
They also discovered how old clothes can be upcycled by turning them into usable products. The experiences made sustainability concepts tangible, fostering environmental stewardship. Back at the centre, children used old clothes to create usable materials like water bottle holders and coasters, which they sold to raise funds along with other art creations they had made to support needy families in our community.
