Overview: On 28 April 2026, PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Kebun Baru Blk 260B successfully conducted its Earth Day Celebration 2026 with children from Infant Care to K2 and their parents. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness by encouraging sustainable practices through recycling, reusing materials, and giving back to the community. The celebration also strengthened the partnership between the preschool, families, and the community through meaningful hands-on activities.

The centre collaborated with Re:Nue by The Salvation Army to organise a donation drive, allowing families to contribute reusable household items to support those in need. This initiative reinforced the importance of environmental stewardship while cultivating empathy and social responsibility among the children.

Highlights of the Event: The programme commenced with the registration of parents and children, followed by an opening address welcoming all participants and representatives from The Salvation Army. A sharing session was conducted to educate families on the importance of reducing waste, reusing usable items, and supporting the community through donations.

Following the talk, families participated in sending the donated items to The Salvation Army collection truck. This provided children with a meaningful opportunity to witness how their contributions could benefit others while reducing environmental waste.

Parents and children then worked together on recycled craft activities within their respective classrooms. Children from N2 to K2 created coin banks using recycled materials, while Infant Care, Playgroup, and Nursery 1 children designed reusable tote bags. These activities encouraged creativity, strengthened parent-child interaction, and demonstrated practical ways of giving discarded materials a new purpose.
