Zero waste living: Making compost from kitchen scraps

The children decided to explore how kitchen scraps can be used to make compost. They worked together to create their own compost bin, with greens ( apples , pineapple and orange skin) , browns ( paper and cardboard scraps) and soil. They observed and drew out what had been placed in the compost bin. We will continue to observe the compost. We look forward to using it to fertilize our chinese mustard seedlings!
