Clean Plate Campaign: Every Bite Counts! As part of our school’s efforts to reduce food waste, we introduced the Clean Plate Campaign from 31 August to 16 October to encourage children to be mindful of the food they take and do their part in reducing food waste. Through this campaign, children were encouraged to take appropriate portions and finish their meals and snacks without wasting food.
Look at our little food heroes! Our children participated enthusiastically by finishing their food and showing their clean plates and bowls. Each time they completed their meal without food waste, they received a sticker as a little encouragement and reminder that every bite counts!
The Clean Plate Campaign will continue throughout the year as part of our SSDB – Zero Waste Campaign. Every Thursday during our Morning Message, teachers and children will have a short discussion about zero waste and simple ways to reduce food waste in their daily lives. Children are also encouraged to practise these habits at home with their families, such as taking only what they can finish and avoiding unnecessary food waste.
Through this ongoing initiative, children learn that small actions can make a difference. By taking only what they can finish and appreciating the food they have, both at school and at home, our children are taking meaningful steps towards reducing food waste and caring for our environment. Every clean plate is a small step towards a more sustainable future!
