Although Singapore has entered Phase 2 of the post-circuit breaker, our childcare centre is still limiting the number of visitors into our spaces. Therefore, the teachers were grateful that NParks has offered to conduct a workshop for the little gardeners via Zoom! In fact, this would be the 2nd time NParks is collaborating with our centre for this year’s SSDB project.

The workshop focussed on seed germination and the growth of pea sprout (dou miao). Although it was conducted virtually, the NParks officers engaged the little gardeners in small activities such as observing the sprouts at different stages as well as tasting the sprouts!

At the end of the workshop, the little gardeners expressed their thanks to the NParks officers and exchanged goodbyes.

The teachers hoped that this short but meaningful workshop had benefitted the little gardeners and that they would share with their families a thing or 2, on the things that they had learnt that day.
