Waves of Change – SSDB Beach Learning Journey

This year, as part of our SSDB 2025 project and Go Green SG initiative, our K2 and K1 children participated in a special beach learning journey themed “Waves of Change.” This theme encourages children to recognise that even small actions can lead to meaningful, positive changes for our environment and community.

In collaboration with Preschool Market, the children headed to Palawan Beach for an exciting day of learning, discovery, and action. The journey began with a safety briefing and a nature walk, where children explored the beach and reflected on the importance of keeping our coastlines clean and safe.

They listened to a story about marine life and plastic waste, which sparked engaging conversations on ocean protection and what we can do to reduce pollution. The children then took part in a beach clean-up, collecting and sorting rubbish into different categories—an activity that helped them understand the real-world impact of waste and the importance of caring for our planet.

To extend their experience, the children visited Palawan Kidz City, where they used recyclable and natural materials to create upcycled art. This creative activity reinforced the concept of reusing waste in thoughtful ways and gave the children a chance to express their learning through hands-on art-making.

The experience nurtured the children’s environmental awareness, sense of responsibility, and creativity—all while reminding us that we each have the power to create Waves of Change.
