This year, our Centre had the opportunity to collaborate with Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS) Woodlands Branch for this project.

The main aim for this project is to create awareness to our children about caring for the senior residents in their community and help the little ones to understand the importance of showing compassion and loving others.

The children had the opportunity to spend time with the senior residents through music class. The children learnt and sang the Chinese song “月亮代表我的心”and created simple dance moves with the senior residents. The elderlies were all smiley and excited as they performed the song together with the children.

The children also joined in to play the board game “Rummikub” with the elderlies and had some fun conversations. The elderlies were teaching the children and told them they should play this board game as it improves their memory.

The children celebrated National Day together with the senior residents at Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS) Centre. The children prepared a mini performance for the elderlies by singing and dancing to the songs “Because It’s Singapore”, “Our Singapore” and they specially prepared a Chinese song “家” so that the elderlies could sing along together. The elderlies were clapping enthusiastically to the songs.
