On 11 April 2023, the Teachers and K1 and K2 children from My First Skool @ 487C Tampines organised a virtual launch party to mark the start of our SSDB project this year! We invited our parents and the seniors from Lion Befrienders, who are our beneficiaries for this project, to join us in our launch party. Can you guess what our project is about?
That’s right! With our parents, seniors and children’s help, we will be upcycling old clothes into new bags and pouches! These upcycled items will then be sold at our Art Gallery in July through barter trading using food rations.

One of our K2 students brought out her father’s shirt which the family agreed to donate to this project.
Our children and parents listened attentively and asked questions along the way.
We are so excited to see how our partnership with our families, children and seniors will bloom in the coming months. Stay tuned and look forward to this space!
