29/04/26 - Introduction to ' Start Small Dream Big Project ' The infants were introduced to the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project through a launching party held on 29/04/26. They were introduced to the storybook , Little Sunflower. Which sparked their interest In sunflowers and gardening.
Following the story, the infants were introduced to various gardening materials. They had the opportunity to touch and feel the soil and seeds, allowing them to explore different textures through their senses.
The older infants also had the opportunity to explore the neighbourhood and participate in a simple gardening experience. They were encouraged to plant and care for the plants, fostering their curiosity and developing an early appreciation for nature and the environment.
As part of the SSDB project, the infants were also given a home-based activity to complete together with their parents. Families were encouraged to purchase or create their own pots and decorate them together. The decorated pots would be later be gifted to the elderly as a token of appreciation and care, allowing the children and their families to spread kindness and brighten the lives of others in the community.
20/05/26 - To complement the potted plants, the infants also created handmade cards in school. Through this activity, the infants were given the opportunity to express their creativity and contribute a personal touch to the gifts. The potted plants and handmade cards were then presented together as a meaningful gesture of kindness and appreciation to the elderly.
