"Waste of Wonder" Workshop with Parents Every daily snack time ends with an opportunity to protect our planet. Instead of throwing away empty milk cartons, we wash, save, and give them a second life through creative upcycling teaching children to pause and rethink waste before tossing items into the trash.
Tinkering Corner Classes are to visit the Tinkering area once a week during Learning Centre time for 20 minutes. During Week 1, teachers are encouraged to introduce the area to children, including its purpose, as well as the dos and don’ts, before children begin engaging in the area from Week 2 onwards.
Earth Day Celebrations Celebrate Earth Day with us! Children will design expressive Earth Day Posters and team up for an interactive Earth Day Carnival featuring games crafted exclusively from recycled materials. Through these creative projects, students learn firsthand how everyday items can be reimagined, repurposed, and given a second life.
Collaboration with Whitley Secondary School In partnership with students from Whitley Secondary School, our children explored sustainability through music and craft. The visiting students provided repurposed materials and guided our children in constructing musical instruments, encouraging environmental awareness and the practical reuse of recycled items.
Family Based Activity: (Bridging Sustainability Between Home and School) Our children have gained valuable insights through our Go Green and Earth Day activities—learning key habits like water conservation, observing Earth Hour, and upcycling. We want to work together with families to strengthen our home–school partnership, empowering children to bring these eco-friendly habits into their everyday lives at home.
