Launch of SSDB Project
The children at Little Woods Montessori have been diving into the wonders of the underwater world 🌊🐠 while also taking part in a meaningful collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE), in support of the Go Green SG movement. Through stories, discussions, and hands-on experiences, the children explored marine life, learned simple ideas about climate change, and discovered how their everyday actions can help care for our planet.

Let’s clean up the ocean
As part of their learning, the children explored ocean sustainability and conservation through a fun and interactive activity. Using model sea animals in a tub of water, they observed marine habitats up close. When plastic “waste” was added, the children became ocean helpers—carefully picking up the plastic and discussing how pollution can harm sea creatures. Through this meaningful experience, they began to understand the impact of human actions on our oceans and how small efforts, like keeping our environment clean, can make a big difference. It was wonderful to see their empathy grow as they learned to care for our marine life 💙

Recycled Art and Craft Project
Building on their learning, the children expressed their ideas through creative art and craft projects using recycled materials—designing sea creatures and ocean scenes to raise awareness about protecting our oceans. They transformed plastic bottles, bubble wrap, empty toilet rolls, and cardboard into colourful creations, discovering how everyday materials can be reused in meaningful ways. It has been heartwarming to see their creativity shine, along with a growing sense of empathy and responsibility for the environment. Small hands, big impact 💚
