The lesson on the abundance of seeds and plants extended beyond food to another powerful use—creating natural pigments. During outdoor exploration, the children collected Blue Pea flowers, a plant grown by the chef in the school café garden, along with its leaves. They pounded the flowers with water and were delighted to discover the vibrant colors that emerged.

The colored liquid was carefully saved and later used to create their own paintings. This hands-on process showed the children that plants can be transformed into dyes and paints, revealing yet another gift from nature. More importantly, it empowered them with the realization that they could produce their own art materials, deepening their appreciation for both creativity and the abundance of the natural world.
