This project introduced children to the concept of sustainability and environmental responsibility through art, encouraging them to explore how recycled and reused materials can be transformed into meaningful works of art. Children were introduced to selected famous artists and explored their unique artistic styles, techniques, colours, patterns, and ideas.

Throughout the project and with community collaboration with Preschool Market, children experimented with a variety of recycled materials such as cardboard, paper, bottle caps, packaging, and other recyclable items. They were encouraged to think creatively, make choices, and recreate their own interpretations of famous artworks while developing their fine motor skills, creativity, confidence, and appreciation for art.

The project also helped children understand that materials which are often considered waste can be given a new purpose and value. Through hands-on experiences, children developed greater awareness of reducing waste, reusing materials, and caring for the environment.

To celebrate the children's learning and creativity, the preschool organized a mini art exhibition at the end of the project. The exhibition showcased the children's recreated artworks and provided an opportunity for children to share their creative process and learning with their peers, and families. It also strengthened children's sense of pride and ownership in their work.
