Small Hands, Big Impact: Our Keep Singapore Clean Journey

As part of Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) 2026, E-Bridge Preschool Bukit Panjang Plaza partnered with the Public Hygiene Council (PHC) to nurture children’s awareness of public hygiene, environmental responsibility and care for the community. Guided by the theme “With Every Child, We Shape Tomorrow,” children learnt that their small actions can make a meaningful difference in keeping Singapore clean.

Our journey began with our SSDB Launch Day, where children explored Ash and the Supermons, colouring and tracing activities provided by PHC. We also welcomed PHC representative Mr Kun Da Chue, together with Toilemon, Trashemon and Trayremon, who reinforced messages about keeping toilets clean, disposing of rubbish properly and returning trays after meals.

These messages continued through our daily practices, including proper handwashing, wiping tables after meals, disposing of rubbish responsibly and caring for shared spaces. Our efforts were recognised through the KeepSGClean Award (CleanHood), celebrating our centre’s commitment to cultivating good hygiene habits among children.

Learning was further extended through health and hygiene poster-making, dramatic play set-ups and classroom experiences. Our K1 children also participated in a litter-picking field trip to CleanPod, putting their learning into action by helping to care for the community. Families joined our journey through our Home–School Partnership, where children practised simple acts of cleanliness beyond school.

Our educators also had the opportunity to contribute to the wider community. During PHC’s networking session for CleanHood schools, Ms Ana represented our centre, sharing our daily practices, SSDB experiences, family involvement and efforts towards sustaining our Keep Singapore Clean journey.

Moving forward, we hope to continue our partnership with PHC and create meaningful opportunities for children and families to practise good public hygiene. Through consistent daily habits and hands-on experiences, we aim to nurture socially responsible children who understand that small hands can make a big impact. 🧡
