The SSDB Walkathon at Gardens by the Bay marked the opening ceremony of our SSDB project. It marked a meaningful start to the project, bringing together children, teachers, and families to show their support for environmental awareness and community involvement. Through the walkathon, the children participated in a meaningful and shared event while learning the importance of caring for the environment. The activity also encouraged teamwork, perseverance, and a sense of belonging as everyone walked together for a meaningful cause.
Go Green – Marine Guardians for a Circular Ocean @ Sentosa As a follow-up to the opening ceremony, the children took part in the Go Green – Marine Guardians activity at Sentosa. They learned about marine conservation and the importance of keeping the ocean clean. This experience helped the children understand how litter and waste can affect sea creatures and the environment.
ALBA E-Waste Parent-Child Recycling Workshop During the ALBA E-Waste Parent-Child Recycling Workshop, children and parents learned about the importance of recycling unwanted electronic items responsibly. The session helped the children understand that e-waste should not be thrown away carelessly, and that recycling helps to protect the environment.
Learning Journey to Coney Island and Punggol Point Cove The learning journey to Coney Island and Punggol Point Cove gave the children an opportunity to explore nature and appreciate outdoor spaces. They observed the environment, enjoyed the coastal surroundings and learned the importance of keeping public spaces clean and safe for everyone.
Seed Planting Workshop by Green Haven The Seed Planting Workshop by Green Haven allowed the children to learn about the life cycle of a plant through hands-on experience. They learned how to plant seeds, care for them and transplant young plants. This activity helped the children understand that plants need water, sunlight, soil and care to grow well. This seed planting served as a closure to our SSDB Project where children learnt about caring for the environment to make Singapore A City of Nature.
