Recycling game!

To promote recycling, we decided to create our own recycling bin to put in the classroom. During the outdoor walk, the K1 children saw the large carton at the void deck and they decided to use it to create as their recycling bin. In class, the children worked together to paint the large carton into green and they also painted the egg cartons to use for the recycling art project. The children were also given drawing papers for them to draw the different types of recyclable  items (e.g. plastic bottles, cans, newspaper, glass bottle…etc) to paste on the recycling bin. Once the recycling bin was done up, the teacher played the recycling game with the children by scattering the different types of recyclable materials on the floor for the children to run and pick up an item to recycle it into the recycling bin. Through this recycling game, the children learnt how to sort the various types of recyclable materials according to paper, plastic, metal and glass.
