A book is a gift you can open again and again - Garrison Keillor

One of the greatest gifts adults can give- to the young and to their society- is teaching them how to read.

Reading not only has tremendous power when it comes to fuelling the development of all aspects of language ability, it’s importance to their entirety of a human life in this day and age can’t really be overstated.

Our school children Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2 were brought to the Central Public Library @ 100 Victoria Street. This library was particularly selected as it has a vast range of books that can be selected for any age group.

We opted for the DIYRead membership to benefit even further for the children. We were given a package of a pre selected theme (Animal) and it consisted of books related to it. Teachers read the books to them and also let the children have some free & easy movement to browse through the books.

Before we left the library, children were encouraged to select 2 books each and borrow them using their own library membership card. All in all, children had a fun & meaningful time spent at the library.
