The children from Sweetlands Woodlands 886c collaborated with the Woodlands Zone 4 RC to reach out to the elderly who require support. The RC identified 12 needy families and the children worked together to bring in donations of dry food such as rice, canned food, oil etc.

The donations were then packed equally into 12 bags for distribution.

We then set off to meet the needy families and distribute the donations to them.

One of the recipients was Aunty Ros who is the sole-breadwinner for her family.

Through this project our children learnt about the less fortunate and identified challenges that they face such as living conditions etc.

In the modern Singapore where children have the luxury of smartphones, comfort of large homes and a variety of food to choose from, it is important for them to learn that there are people out there who do not have the ability to afford basic necessities.
