Ever since the children pledged for the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB), the K1 teachers conducted brainstorm sessions with them. The entrepreneuring children came up with many interesting ideas and concepts for food and games. For food, they came up with ‘popcorn’, ‘chicken rice,’ etc. They also advocated a multi-racial food theme to represent the four different races in Singapore: The Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian. For games, In line with the Racial Harmony day, the children introduced popular childhood games such as kuti kuti, chapteh and the five stones.

The whole school was involved and representatives from every class came out to help to sell the items. Many of them were able to demonstrate their selling skills with confidence. They were so excited when their items were snapped up! The event lasted for two hours, but the enriching experience and the good memory would be imprinted in their minds and hearts for life! It was truly both a successful and rewarding event as many parents came down to support the cause. They praised the efforts that both the teachers and the children had put in.

Well done Nurturestars Preschool @ SAFRA Punggol!
