We started the project by asking children what is their definition of Kindness. The teacher wrote down the answers and then we brainstorm on what can we do to spread kindness.

Children brought home their star pledge and together with the parents, they wrote down on how can they pledge to be kind. The star pledge are then hanged at their respective classroom as a reminder that they need to be kind everyday.

Our phase 1 of Project Kindness - Pay it forward focuses on showing gratitude and encouraging children, parents and teachers to say ‘Thank You’.  At the end of phase one, children wrote down how they felt when they show gratitude to others and when they receives “Thank you!” from people around them. They also shared the times they said “Thank You” to others and why.

Children and teachers also paste their gratitude message on Our Kindness Tree. This Kindneess tree represents all the “Thank You” notes (leaves) and random act of kindness (hearts)
