This project will span across a couple of months, ending with a Flea Market. Through this project, we hope to let the little ones develop their Social-Emotional Skills, bearing empathy and compassion, to identify and understand the needs of underprivileged groups or community beneficiaries. They will practice kindness and respect, cultivating altruism by doing good for others. The children will learn that no one is too young to make a positive impact on society, fostering their civic responsibility from young. In addition, the project instills Environmental Awareness, aligning with Go Green SG movement. The children will internalize the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), understanding the eco-friendly impact of a flea market by giving old or pre-loved items a second life instead of throwing them away. We chose Ahuva Good Shepherd Children's Home as our beneficiary as it is in close proximity and relation to our school for the children and parents to relate to. We invited parents to start working with their children to select items which they are ready to part with to donate for sale during the Flea Market – Books/Toys/Clothes/Craft Materials. Our PSG group assisted to sort and categorise the items to prepare for the Flea Market.
