As part of our SSDB Launch in May, we were delighted to invite the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) to conduct an engaging Show and Tell session for our N2 and K1 children. The children had the wonderful opportunity to learn more about animals, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of caring for our furry friends. One of the highlights was getting to gently touch and interact with a guinea pig under the guidance of the AVS team. The children also learned how to properly care for a guinea pig, including the importance of providing it with the right food, a safe environment, and gentle handling. This meaningful hands-on experience encouraged our little ones to develop kindness, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for animals.

As we continued our SSDB project in August, our children took part in a meaningful Art and Craft Fundraising Activity. Before creating their artworks, we shared with them the purpose of the activity and how their creations could help support animals in need.

Our IF/PG children created pet keychains, N2 made fridge magnets, K1 created picture frames, and K2 made wind chimes. These handmade creations were later used for our SSDB Finale Fundraising Activity.

Through this experience, our children learned that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. They were proud to use their creativity to show love and care for animals.

On 10 September, we held our SSDB Finale Fundraising Activity and welcomed our supportive parents to be part of this meaningful event. It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to share the artworks they had proudly created with love and care.

Our children’s handmade creations included pet keychains by IF/PG, fridge magnets by N2, picture frames by K1, and wind chimes by K2. Each artwork represented the children’s creativity, effort, and their understanding of the importance of caring for animals.

Before the fundraising, we talked to the children about how their creations could help animals in need. They were excited to know that their little efforts could contribute to a meaningful cause.

The funds raised from our fundraising activity will be donated to the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) to support their work in caring for and protecting cats in need.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our parents for their generous support and contributions. Together, we showed our children that kindness, compassion, and caring can start with small actions and make a big difference.

On 11 September as also part of our finale, our K2 children went on a meaningful Learning Journey to Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden @ AVS. The children had the opportunity to learn more about different pet animals, such as cats, terrapins, and guinea pigs, and how to care for them responsibly.

Through this hands-on experience, the children learned about the animals’ needs, how to handle them gently, and the importance of showing care, kindness, and respect towards animals. They were excited to explore, observe, and share what they learned with their friends and teachers.

It was a fun and meaningful way to conclude our SSDB journey, reminding our children that every little act of care can make a difference to the animals around us.
