Following our journey, the children celebrated World Ocean Day on 8 June 2021. We learnt more about Marine Biodiversity. They were engaged in a live zoom session organised by S.E.A Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa. The session focused on protecting sharks in the ocean.
During the zoom session, the children were introduced to negative effects of human behavior on sharks. We learnt that is it important to protect sharks as it is important to the ecosystem in the ocean.
Did you know? If there are no more sharks in the ocean, it affects the coral reef ecosystem. This is because the ocean will be overpopulated by herbivores.
We Can Do Our Part
The children pledged to spread awareness on being kind to marine animals. Some pledge to never eat shark fins whereas some pledged to keep the ocean clean for the marine animal to have healthier place to live in.
